That's bad pattern recognition. It's like when you see Christ's image on a piece of burnt toast. Yes, it may look a lot like the paintings of Christ. But it doesn't prove anything. What about all those other pieces of burnt toast? All the patterns in nature and mythology that remind you of your religious beliefs are just confirmations of what you already believe. They are not proof that supports your beliefs. Also the fact that they can just as easily be used to refute your beliefs makes them pretty much useless as a kind of evidence at all.Mr. Shiny and Newhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03101544839246534676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2391147305141001381.post-58666909459839380452013-05-06T16:25:13.006-04:002013-05-06T16:25:13.006-04:00The astrological commonalities to Christ just enfo...The astrological commonalities to Christ just enforce to me that ALL things are connected to Christ our savior...the moon, the stars, the sun, the earth, everything should align to our redeemer...he is the creator of this world so it would make sense for all things to align to him...from the beginning of time, to his birth and death, to where we are now...one can either use all this mythology correlation to Christ to disprove him or use it to reinforce his divinity and ownership of all things....
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2391147305141001381.post-72024159258890311572012-11-03T23:34:17.040-04:002012-11-03T23:34:17.040-04:00Interesting post. A lot of people read Joseph Conrad or Virginia Woolf and find that there's no story there, that it's boring because nothing happens. That's kind of like listening to music that doesn't have a melody.

I find that with this type of literature and music, it has to be experienced in virtually one sitting. If you break it up into parts, a lot is lost in the interruption. When the music or the novel is experienced in one sitting, however, the "drama" becomes more noticeable.

I am still listening to the first movement, and so far, I find Vincent Ho's music very dramatic.

Plus, I think it's way cool that you have a friend who's a contemporary classical composer.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11152717195141064134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2391147305141001381.post-59606948822323913262010-03-07T22:49:51.313-05:002010-03-07T22:49:51.313-05:00@Shaun: Yeah, I totally agree. I can't believe all the crap that these quacks spew out. One friend of mine is pregnant with her second child (her eldest is 19 months old), and when she went to see her naturopath, the naturopath said to her, "I don't understand how you could've gotten pregnant if you were breast-feeding."
